On Monday, LinkNYC activated their first two FREE WiFi kiosk located along Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy.

The kiosks don’t only provide the state’s fastest FREE public Wi-Fi but also allows users to charge their mobile devices with available USB ports and make FREE domestic phone calls, including direct access to 911 and 311. If you’re 150 feet or less (approximately 8 city blocks) you’ll be able to successfully connect to the kiosk.

CityBridge, the organization responsible for the LinkNYC kiosks, noted that more than 700,000 people have taken advantage of the FREE Wi-Fi service already made available in areas in Manhattan, and the Links are used nearly 3 million times each week.

The borough currently has 11 unactivated kiosks of which nine are due to activate in the weeks ahead, including some near LIU-Brooklyn and Prospect Park.
