Barclays Center continues to prove that they are the best arena for major events in New York City.

The NBA Draft To Take Place In Brooklyn For The 3rd Straight Year

For the third straight year, the Brooklyn arena will host the biggest event for the future stars in professional basketball, the NBA Draft. For nine years (2001 to 2010) the NBA Draft was held at  New York Knicks home, Madison Square Garden. Yet, that changed ever once the iconic Barclays Center was complete.

According to an article from Tim Bontemps of the New York Post:

League sources told The Post the NBA draft will return to Barclays Center for a third straight season next month. It will mark the fifth straight year the draft will be held at an arena that houses the Nets. It took place at Prudential Center in Newark in 2011 and 2012.

While the June 25 draft will be held at the home of the Nets, the focus locally will almost exclusively be on the Knicks, who have the second-best chance to claim the top spot in the NBA draft lottery, which will be held at the ABC Studios in Times Square May 19.

While this might not mean much for the Nets team as they have two horrible picks in this year’s draft: the first round 29th overall selection and the second round pick, the No. 41 overall selection, I guess we’ll take whatever we can get.
