Really? Why are people so angry with Spike Lee? Earlier this week, Spike was in conversation at Pratt Institute for Black History month. He happened to go on a rant regarding the evolution and gentrification of Brooklyn. While many were up in arms, I truly agreed with him and he made some valid points. Well my opinion seems to be one of the few, as earlier today one of Spike Lee’s family member’s home was vandalized.

Someone spray painted the steps of the Lee’s home located at 164 Washington Park in Fort Greene with the words “Do The Right Thing”, possibly in reference to his 1989 movie and his now famous rant. Investigators are now looking into who could have possibly done this, as also a neighbors window was smashed as well.

According to NY1, Spike Lee’s brother, Arnold Lee, was another person not so satisfied with what his sibling had to say.

“Spike needs to stop with whatever situation he was talking about over here. Because he doesn’t live here – and he’s not involved in it. Don’t make it personal. That way somebody knows where you live. My friend got her house damaged and somebody spray painted our house,” Lee said.

He does have a point, none-the-less Spike Lee made a few people mad with the TRUTH.
