The Brooklyn Nets came into Barclays Center on a 4-homegame winning streak and make it 5 tonight with a win against the Portland Trailblazers. Brook Lopez, Deron Williams, and Thaddeus Young combined for 77 points in the Nets dazziling victory.

Brooklyn controlled the opening tip and Deron Williams worked his was to find the easy lay up to put the first points on the board. The Trailblazers took the first lead via a Robin Lopez dunk, 10-8. The Nets were outrebounded 15-8 as the quarter winded down. Nets would get to the free throw line in the final moments of the quarter, cutting the lead to 3, 25-22.

Bogdanovic of the Nets would hit a jumper to open to the 2nd quarter that would give the Nets a 7-0 run, bridging the 1st and 2nd quarter. Brooklyn would take a 2-point lead at 27 until Portland tied it up and hit a deep 3-pointer, 30-27. Brooklyn would retake the lead via a Thaddeus Young dunk, which was followed up by a Mason Plumlee dunk to put the Nets up by 3, 36-33. Brooklyn would go on a 12-0 run to take a 9 point lead via a Deron Williams pointer, 42-33. Nets started to pull away in the final 2 minutes of the quarter as the went up 54-38 to close the quarter. Nets would outscore the Trailblazers 32-13 in the quarter to end the first half.

Thaddeus Young worked the second half by ballooning the lead to 20, 60-40 with over 9 minutes remaining in the third. Portland did make a blazing comeback on an 11-2 run causing a Brooklyn time out after a Lillard 3-pointer. Deron and Brook dazzled the crowd with spectacular plays and going back up by 18, 75-57 Nets. Nets outscored the Trailblazers 42-14 in the game, ending the quarter 77-6, Nets.

Final quarter of the game started with a Thaddeus Young tip in.However, the Trailblazers would cut the lead to 10, 83-73 via a 3 pointer, dunk and lay up. The score went back and forth from single to double digits in the last six minutes of regulation until the trailblazers cut the lead to 6, 89-83. Lopez and Williams helped bring the lead back to 11, 94-83. Thaddeus Young then hit a thunderous dunk, getting the Brooklyn crowd off their feet while taking a 13-point lead, 96-83. Joe Johnson would hit his first field goal of the game with under 2 min remaining. Trailblazers would try to cut the lead down as much as possible but the Nets wouldn’t let them get out of their double digit debt. Trailblazers would play the foul game but could get the victory.

 

The Nets play the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday in Brooklyn.
