Life is all about coming together to make society better and a few Parsons School of Design students jumped on the opportunity to do just that.

Earlier this month architecture graduate students from the college teamed up with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to build new locker room pavilions at the Sunset Park Recreation Center and Pool in Brooklyn (one of the first four public pools built in Brooklyn), according to Architectural Digest.

The team of students are all part of a Parson’s Design Workshop that voluntarily provides design and construction work for non-profit organizations. With a five-year partnership with the city’s parks department, Design Workshop will improve and build up on a number of public spaces throughout the city of New York.
