How could the Academy forget the woman that made the Oscars’ red carpet a thing?

Oscars Forgets About Brooklyn Born Joan Rivers?

Every year, during the Oscars ceremony, the Academy pays tribute to the late great actors, directors, screen writers, producers and other notables that contribute to film making in a touching “In Memoriam” segment. While paying tribute to the likes of Maya Angelou, Robin Williams, Andy Rooney and others, Joan Rivers who passed away in 2014 was visibly left out.

Although many know the late Brooklyn born diva as a comedian and TV personality, she appeared in several films including “The Muppets Take Manhattan” and “Spaceballs.” Rivers also wrote and directed “Rabbit Test,” a comedy released in 1978.

Somewhere in heaven Rivers is calling out the Academy and here on earth many celebrities voiced their opinions via social media.
