Sports Illustrated and others put out their 2015-16 NBA predictions and none were kind to the Brooklyn Nets as they ranked them close to, even below the New York Knicks.

Sports Illustrated has projected that the Nets will only win 29.7% of their games after winning 46.3% last season. They have the Knicks at 28%. Other beat writers are actually ranking the Nets below the Knicks. People have the right to their own opinions but when facts are laying in plain sight, you can’t just start making up things.

Knicks fans don’t even believe the Knicks will be better than the Nets. But for those of you that are into making things up or doubt this, lets take a look as to why:

5 Reasons Why The Nets Wont Be Worse Than The Knicks This Season

1. Shane Larkin and Andrea Bargnani left the Knicks for the Nets.

I guess the grass is greener on the other side, at least it is on the roof of Barclays Center. Former Knicks starting point guard, Shane Larkin, and the 1st pick of the 2006 NBA draft, Andrea Bargnani, bolted the Knicks for the Nets after their displeasure with the triangle offense. Shane Larkin is a pick and roll type of point guard. There isn’t a lot of that in the triangle offense so Larkin couldn’t show off his skills and therefore looked below average in a Knicks uniform. In fact, the triangle offense doesn’t need a traditional point guard. Add to the fact that Phil Jackson wasn’t high on either of these players and you can start seeing why both of these guys crossed the bridge into Brooklyn. Bargnani was even willing to come to Brooklyn for free just to prove his worth.

2. Phil Jackson has not done anything right.

Can anyone point to just a single Phil Jackson move that was good? Didn’t think so. This was supposed to be the guy that finally made the Knicks relevant. He was supposed to make sure Carmelo Anthony got ring in the near future. Instead he completely guts the team and trades huge assets away like Tyson Chandler, J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert for a pack of looseleaf paper, wide ruled. Then who could forget the NBA Draft and the events leading up to it? What a joke. The team has the worst record in the history of the Knicks, has the second worst record in the NBA which cost them the #1 draft pick, they’ve won less games than people have toes and fingers, the G.M. puts his head down in shame as the team drafts the #4 pick and then the fans boo Kristaps Porzingis as he’s drafted to the Knicks by Jackson. The offseason was a complete disaster as free agents didn’t even want to give the team a look or went to places like Milwaukee. All Phil Jackson has done up to this point is tweet random nonsense and talk about players person business to the media.

3. The Nets have a team in place. Who do the Knicks have?

How do people put a ranking up and cant even tell you who the starting 5 are going to be? Ask yourselves this. Who are the starting 5 on the Knicks? Here’s the real challenging question? Who the hell is even on the Knicks team? It’s just ridiculous.

4. The Brooklyn Nets are making the playoffs.

For the 4th straight time, the Brooklyn Nets will be in the NBA playoffs since moving to Brooklyn.  The New York Knicks however will miss theirs for the 3rd consecutive time. Since the 2000-01 NBA season, the Knicks have won only 1 playoff series. They missed the playoffs 10 times in that period and were swept two other times they made it. Look it up. The Brooklyn Nets also have only won 1 series, however they’ve only been in Brooklyn or 3 seasons and have never missed the playoffs.

5. The Brooklyn Nets had an amazing off-season.

The Nets got rid of Deron Williams who was a guy that didn’t want to be there. Deron didn’t want the spotlight the Brooklyn brought.  Once they bought his contract out and stretched him for about 5 million per year, the Nets found themselves under the salary tax line for the first time since moving to Brooklyn. They traded Mason Plumlee for the 23rd pick in the draft, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who can really defend, get up and down the court and is really likable. They also drafted Chris McCoullough from the Bronx and the team did solid in the Las Vegas Summer League. Don’t forget that the Nets also resigned Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young as well as signing Thomas Robinson and Shane Larkin as the new and youthful core. The Knicks on the other hand, got no big name to come play for them, they just got whoever was left. At least they got Robin Lopez but Brook Lopez is tremendously better in every way.

This list could easily continue as to why the Brooklyn Nets will be better than the New York Knicks this season, but you already knew they would be.
