The Brooklyn Nets are hot! Extremely hot! With an award winning coach and a team driven to win, they are positioning themselves to be a threat in the NBA Playoffs! Last night the Brooklyn Nets put on a show. They knew that they wanted to seal the play-off spot but most importantly they were going for an historical 14 straight home-game win. They nailed it! The Nets beat the Rockets at home for the first time in 11 years, in a 105-96 victory! The Nets hadn’t defeated the Rockets at home since March 31, 2003, when they were still known as the New Jersey Nets. Woah!

Last nights game was also very star studded! Ex co-owner of the Nets, Jay Z and his wife Beyonce took their regular seats. Oh hey Bey, we see you with your lollipop and champagne! “Blow”! They haven’t been seen at a game in a while. With both of them being on tour and doing what they do best, working, who has the time?

(Peep Violet Palmer, First Female to referee an All-Star game in any of the 4 major US sports, We see you!)

According to InsideHoops.com twitter, rap legends Raekwon and Biz Markie and Travie McCoy of “Gym Class Heroes” also showed up.

Joe Johnson seemed to be having a good night as he pulled in the teams leading scores at 32 points. Shaun Livingston added an additional 17 points for the Nets. The Nets also happened to pull within 1½ games of Toronto and Chicago for the No. 3 spot in the Eastern Conference and home-court advantage in the first round. As good as they are at home, home court advantage would be a big deal during the first round of the playoffs!

Tonight they head right across the bridge to take on the New York Knicks who are now fighting for the 8th spot to head to the playoffs. This game should be real interesting. You can catch tonights game on ESPN at 7:00pm.

Good Luck Brooklyn!
