I had the pleasure of doing a tasting here over the summer and meeting the young, vibrant and extremely funny Head Chef Quincy Garner. “Fork” is located in the Clinton Hill Section of Brooklyn at 507 Myrtle Ave (bet Ryerson St and Grand Ave).

Before we talk about the food, I have to tell you what makes this place just a little more special. The head chef Quincy who grew up in the not so pleasant parts of Brooklyn wanted to make something positive come out of where lived. He loves to cook (obviously), and is infatuated with the way food makes people feel. One line that stuck with me during our chat was “Most people eat to get full, I cook for people who eat for the taste!”

With that being said, you want to know about the food! More of southern comfort, hearty, not really healthy! But when you had food this good, do we care about health (just kidding)!

My favorites hands down were the mixed green salad and the shrimp with pineapple and walnuts! Oh so good!

Then there is your Mac N’ Cheese with a twist. Instead of your normal bread crumb toppings that most restaurants use, Chef Quincy uses a raisin cinnamon style of bread to top it off. I thought it was different with a unique taste.

Stop by Fork and tell us what you thought about it! I always love to hear my readers take on things! Eat Up!
