BAMcinématek will present the World Premiere of FKA twigs’ Soundtrack 7 film. Soundtrack 7 is based on a week-long residency the singer held last year at Manchester’s Old Granada Studios, as part of the Manchester International Festival. For the residency, FKA twigs’ created a new dance piece for each day and directed seven different films for each performance.

Formed as an “abstract autobiographical piece,” according to BAM, the film includes performances set to “How’s That”, “Ultraviolet,” and “Good to Love” among others, and is bound together by a striking, repeated recitation of Thomas Wyatt’s poem “I Find No Peace” (an excerpt from which opened twigs’ critically acclaimed LP1).

Soundtrack 7 will show at the Peter Jay Sharp Building, BAM Rose Cinemas on Wednesday August 3rd at 7:30PM. The film will be followed by a self-directed short film featuring four songs from the M3LL155X EP and a live Q&A with FKA Twigs, moderated by Culture Shed’s Alex Poots. Tickets are on sale now for $22, $11 for BAM members.
