The NBA has decided to shake up the Rising Stars Challenge event. Previously the event would host only NBA players. There will be 10 players on each team that will be selected from NBA assistant coaches around the league. Both 10-man rosters will include four guards, four front-court players and two players regardless of position. Each team will also feature a minimum of three first-year players and three second-year players among its 10 spots.

The head coaches for each team will be an assistant coach from the NBA ALL-STAR game coaching staff. The staff members will be chosen based on the team that has the best record in the Western and Eastern Conference by February 1st, 2015.
