My soul just screamed, YES! The first sign of a changing neighborhood, is a Starbucks being built. Coming this fall, Starbucks has officially announced that they will be opening its doors to their first Crown-Heights location on 341 Eastern Parkway (at Franklin Ave.). Most of the Starbucks locations are concentrated within Downtown Brooklyn with a few scattered around park Slope, bay Ridge, Flatbush and Bensonhurst. Now it’s time to add Crown Heights to the list.

This Starbucks will open its doors on the ground level of a new 63 unit, housing development. A Capital One bank is also set to open right next door to Starbucks around the same time. The rents for this building will start leasing next month with cost of a one bedroom starting at $2,575/mo to $3,700/mo for a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment.

There are a ton of local coffee shops around the area of the expected Starbucks and we wonder how they are taking it. Some of the shops include Little Zelda and Crosby Coffee. If they have a loyal customer base the new Starbucks shouldn’t bother them too much, right?

Time will tell! Can’t Wait!
