Brooklyn is becoming more of an art canvas for prestige designers and we are here for it.

This year New York Fashion Week (NYFW) invited several celebrities and influencers to the borough to witness some of the hottest new looks.

Rihanna kicked the week off with her Fenty Beauty line launch on Thursday, September 7, at Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn Navy Yard with everyone from actress Tracee Ellis Ross to social media personality Joanne The Scammer were in attendance.

Later that week Brooklyn’s home arena, Barclays Center hosted the VFiles show, where four designers — JunJie Yang, Louis Pileggi, INXX, and Christian Stone — showcased their work.

To top it all off, Alexander Wang made the streets of Bushwick his runway. Models like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner ripped the pavement for Wangfest, debuting his spring 2018 collection. Over the course of the week familiar names such as the Kardashians/Jenners, Lori Harvey, Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber, Tinashe, Jordyn Woods, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, Tony Hawk, Amanda Steele, Justine Skye, and more attended these events.

People always appreciated what Brooklyn had to offer and Alexander Wang is a great co-signer hence “WangFest” being his second Brooklyn show.

In the past Christian Dior’s creative director, Raf Simmons also curated their pre-spring 15 fashion event here. From the urban neighborhoods, and diverse culture to our dope roster of natives and artsy vibe– I mean who wouldn’t want Brooklyn to be a part of their fashion experience?

The idea of fashion brings a liberating feeling and sense of freedom to creators as they audaciously bring new designs each and every year. When look books are analyzed and pieced together, it’s appropriate to say these designers look for new ways to take their audience on another adventure. Downtown Magazine NYC said it best when they referenced the borough of Brooklyn as a space for “more creative freedom”.
