Another one for Brooklyn headed to All-Star weekend! All-Star weekend is one of the BIGGEST showcases of basketball talent! Only the greats and fan favorites  get to attend. This is Johnson’s  first time as part of the Brooklyn Nets to be selected but his seventh time being an All-Star. Johnson’s reaction, well he was sleeping. As reported by the New York Daily News after he did find out, he was extremely surprised!

“It kind of just shows where we’ve come as a team, coaching staff, the players, the whole organization, just a month ago this couldn’t have happened,” Johnson said. “To be selected is honoring us as Nets.“How we started and turned it around the whole month of January? I hate to sound cliché but I couldn’t have done it without the guys.”

It hasn’t all been peachy since Johnson’s pick to be in the East All-Star reserves. Johnson beat out Raptors guard Kyle Lowry and Pacers guard Lance Stephenson, among others.  Patrick Paterson of the Toronto Raptors directly compared Johnson and Lowry, tweeting Lowry’s “numbers are better & he’s on a winning team. So how is he not the obvious choice?”

Uh really..Slightly bitter?

Johnson’s response,

“I don’t care,” Johnson said. “I don’t care, man. It is what it is, you can say whatever you want. What’s done is done, it’s over with.”

As of Friday’s loss against the Thunder (OKC) (95-120), Johnson averages 15.7 points a game.
