You’ve seen him on Project Runway, and she is the Director and Chief Curator of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Tim Gunn and Velerie Steele will be “In Conversation” at the Brooklyn Museum on Thursday, January 30th at 7pm. This is a part of a series of public programs that the Brooklyn Museum has been doing for adults, teens and children all in the month of January.

project-runway36The public series has included discussions, late night events, sensory tours, live performances, screenings, and hands-on workshops for children and adults that amplify  some of the Museum’s exhibitions. This is all in an effort to  accomodate the museum’s diverse audience, and support learning through the visual arts.

Along with Target First Saturdays, the month included chats with military veterans,  war photographers, a hat and fascinator workshop with design alchemist Heidi Lee. Coming up will be an unforgettable performance from War Is Personal, an after-work Salsa Party with the New Swing Sextet and DJ Ray Suave, a screening of the award-winning documentary Restrepo and the finale conversation with Valerie Steele and Tim Gunn.
