Are you over the age of 18, in school for fashion design and love the Brooklyn Nets? Then you already qualify to submit a design for the Brooklyn Nets Dance Team to wear center court sometime during g the remainder of this season. The “diverse, sophisticated, cutting edge, and athletic” women that make up the Brooklynettes are looking for a few exemplary pieces from the best design students in New York, to chose the winning design.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Designers must submit front and back sketches of their look via the entry form on brooklynnets.com.
  • Design submissions must be black and white, contain the word “NETS,” reflect the Brooklyn Stars and Stripes uniform, and draw inspiration from the 2014-15 Brooklynettes costume collection.
  • Fabrics chosen must be conducive to all styles of dance and athletic choreography.
  • Brooklyn Nets player names and numbers should not be incorporated into the design.

  • Entrants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, be full-time students in a college fashion program, and reside within the Nets’ marketing territory as defined by the National Basketball Association (currently, a 75-mile radius from the contiguous border of the city of New York).

Design submissions will be accepted from now until noon on February 6th,2015. The Brooklyn Nets will then choose 3 finalist who will create a sample of their design with Brooklynettes costume designer David Dalrymple. Dalrymple is a longtime designer at House of Field, whose clients have included Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Rihanna, and Jennifer Lopez. Each finalist will have a fitting with a Brooklynettes dance team member and have their look captured in photos and video.

The winning design will be constructed by David Dalrymple and the chosen winner who will receive a four week paid internship to help worn Dalrymple complete the designs. The winner will receive also will receive two tickets to the Brooklyn Nets home game when the Brooklynettes debut the winning look, a video feature in-arena and on brooklynnets.com, and coverage on Brooklyn Nets social media.
