Brooklyn Museum To Host First Ever READ Brooklyn Book Fair

The Brooklyn Museum will host their first annual READ Brooklyn authors book fair on Saturday, March 12, from 1 to 5 pm. The inaugural fair is set to feature over forty Brooklyn-based authors of newly published fiction and nonfiction books with topics ranging from science fiction and graphic novels to cooking and artist books.

This is not your typical fair as the museum has sought after the best of the best Brooklyn authors to hold special intimate readings and signings. A featured booth will be presented for popular Brooklyn-based publisher, Dancing Foxes Press.

The schedule of readings is as follows:

1 pm: Artist Archie Rand reads from his artist book The 613, an illustrated guide to the 613 Jewish commandments.

1:45 pm: Author Elizabeth Gaffney reads from her novel When the World Was Young, a story that captures postwar Brooklyn through the eyes of a young girl.

2:30 pm: Author Rebecca Dinerstein reads from
her debut novel, The Sunlit Night, a story of two New Yorkers who find unlikely refuge in one another abroad.

3:15 pm: Author Mira Jacob reads from her debut novel, The Sleepwalker’s Guide to Dancing, an imaginative story on making peace with life’s uncertainties.

The fair and all related programming within the Martha A. and Robert S. Rubin Pavilion are free to the public. Programming within the galleries is free with Museum admission.
