“During the holidays, more than ever, we must have those less fortunate in our thoughts and prayers, and remember that it is always better to give than to receive,” said Carlo A. Scissura, President & CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. “With so many Brooklynites struggling just to put food on the table, every cent we collect will go a long way towards helping a family in need. I want to thank all the participating food pantries and everyone who donates to this wonderful cause.”

The first donation to Brooklyn Eats Cares was made by the New York Business Development Corporation, which donated $6,000 — $1,000 for each of the food banks.
