In the new Off-Broadway musical “Brooklynite,” showing at the Vineyard Theatre, actor Matt Doyle plays Trey Swieskowski, an idealistic hardware store clerk who dreams of becoming a superhero. Astrolass, Brooklyn’s most celebrated superhero, is determined to throw in the cape and live like a normal Brooklynite. When the two finally meet they develop a plan that will change both of their lives forever.
The musical, inspired by the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company in Park Slope, is directed by Tony Award winning director for :Spring Awakening”, Michael Mayer.
