BCS Launches Borough Campaign That Features Brooklyn Notables

Lookout for some new imagery starring some of your favorite Brooklyn celebrities as Brooklyn Community Services (BCS) — a nonprofit organization that empowers at-risk children, youth and families, and adults with mental illness, has officially launched ONE Brooklyn Community public awareness campaign.

The campaign that can be seen in over 30 subway platforms throughout Brooklyn features hip-hop pioneer, Fab Five Freddy; international supermodel, Freja Beha Erichsen; international celebrity chef, Roblé Ali; image activist, Michaela angela Davis; expressionist painter, Danny Simmons; designers, Coco and Breezy; Grammy-nominated musicians, Les Nubians; celebrity DJ, DJ Toni K; writer, Glamour magazine, Lauren Chan; and celebrated author, Demetria Lucas D’Oyley.

The ONE Brooklyn Community campaign consist of a series of powerful imagery inspired by the work of multi-media artist and photographer, Mark Holthusen and is a call to action to “Change the Math” for thousands of Brooklynites living in poverty. The images blend together local tastemakers, luminaries, investors and iconic natives with the clients that BCS serves.

“We are very proud to support BCS and help bring this important campaign which highlights a powerful message to the public,” Wendy Scarlett, Vice President at Popular Community Bank said in a statement. “Popular Community Bank is committed to advancing the financial health of our communities and this campaign’s focus will help to further understanding and support for those in most need.”
