9 Year Old Mill Basin Resident Becomes NY's Youngest Author

Anaya Willabus of Mill Basin, has just become every young girl of Brooklyn’s real life inspiration.

Williabus, only 9 years young, has officially become New York’s youngest published author, writing her first book, “The Day Mohan Found His Confidence” when she was just 8-years-old.  Amazon details the novel as a “must read for all children.” To date the pre-teen has sold over 2,000 copies of her book that sheds light on how youth can overcome challenges at school as well as, home and the local government of Guyana — where Williabus’ parents are from — has added the book to the elementary school curriculum.

“When I started writing the book I figured it should be someone that people can relate to because sometimes many of us have confidence issues,” Willabus told News 12.
