Before tonight’s announcement on TNT, Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers led all 2015 NBA All-Star Starters’ votes with a number of 971,299. Right behind James was Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors with 958,014 votes. Anthony Davis was in third with 922,381 votes. Before tonight’s announcement, Kobe Bryant was leading in the Western Conference backcourt with 862,568 votes. Kobe Bryant has unfortunately suffered torn rotator cuff. Whether or not he will participate in the NBA ALL-STAR game is still left to be decided.

Your 2015 NBA All-Star Starters Have Been Announced!

Tonight in front of a worldwide audience the NBA on TNT announced the starting lineup for the 2015 NBA-ALL STAR game. Steph Curry is making his 2nd ALL-STAR appearance and managed to pass Lebron James by 40,000 points. Kobe Bryant is making his 17th straight appearance.  Anthony Davis was selected and is making his 2nd NBA ALL-STAR appearance. Marc Gasol was selected and is making his 2nd ALL-STAR appearance. Blake Griffin was selected and is making his 5th NBA ALL-STAR appearance. Steve Kurr will be the Western Conference ALL-STAR coach James Harden is not a starter despite being a leading candidate for NBA league MVP.

Starting for in the Eastern Conference, John Wall was selected and will make his 2nd straight ALL-STAR appearance. Kyle Lowry was selected will make his 1st all-star appearance in the back court. He was chosen over Dwayne Wade. Lebron James will make his 11th straight ALL-STAR appearance. Pau Gasol was selected and will make his 5th all-star appearance. Finally, Carmelo Anthony was selected and will make his 8th all-star appearance. Atlanta Hawks Head Coach Mike Budenholzer will coach for the East.

As for the reserves, the fans will not have a say in this one as the NBA coaches will pick who will come off the bench. There are only 5 more players left to choose from on each team. TNT announcers have chosen Damian Lillard, LeMarcus Aldridge, James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson for the West. The reserves for the East were also debated. TNT announcers had Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague and Paul Millsap. The final remaining 2 players were heavily debated. Who will come off the bench in the ALL-STAR game? No one knows but it’s going to be a tough decision for the coaches around the league.
