The weekend is finally here and this one is very special. It’s Labor Day Weekend and the kids are getting ready for a year back in school. While the summer was hot and not short enough, education is key and being properly prepared for the school year ahead is extremely important.

Here are 11 events happening this weekend that will get you eating right, celebrating culture and preparing the kids to get back into school mode.

Stay In School Concert and College Fair

The West Indian American Day Carnival Association is hosting their annual back to school event filled with a concert that features young talent in music, dance, spoken word and more while highlighting the values of our immigrant community and encouraging our youth to pursue and continue their educational goals.

Block Party: NYC Soul of Summer
